Bridge Closings / Road Work

Pre-Plan your detours around these Road/Bridge closings

• Route 433 bridge over Rowe Run in Southampton Township, Franklin County, will be closed for three months for a bridge deck replacement project. For house numbers 9000 and up use Bedford Road. For house numbers 8951 and lower use Pinola Road.

• Shippensburg University - Dauphin Drive between Adams Drive and York Drive is now closed.

• Water line replacement on Roxbury Road, starting at Mongul and working in towards Shippensdburg... expect delays and temporary closures.

Annual Firefighters Banquet

Banquet invitations have been mailed out. Please return RSVP's into the Secretary's mailbox NO LATER THAN March 19th. Due to computer issues at the firehouse, this year’s invitation list had to be populated based off last year’s list. It is every honorary and active member's privilege to attend the banquet. If you not receive an invite this week please take one of the invites that will be posted at the firehouse. Our apologies to anyone that may have been missed.

With the banquet approaching March 27th, lets make sure the firehouse is clean for the personnel who are gracious enough to cover for us!

Big Cash Drawing

The Big Cash Drawing with Newburg Hopewell Fire Company will be Saturday May 29, 2010, at Shippensburg Township Park. 6000 tickets, $10 each, $30,000 in prize money, $10,000 top prize. Ticket available mid-February. More details soon. Mark your calendar, lots and lots of help will be needed.

S.F.D. - Relay for Life

Relay for Life is June12-13th at Shippensburg University. Lots of people have expressed interest. CV’s and WEFR have committed a few people. We have decided to call our team Shippensburg Fire Department. Everyone who wishes to participate will need to fill out a waiver form, which I will post at the firehouse. Completed forms can be put in my mailbox. Members do not have to commit to the full 24 hours, we can work out shifts. Once I receive waiver forms, I will get members information on getting sponsors! Notes from the Captain

• Upon returning from calls it is essential that the fleet is ready to respond to another emergency. If the crews responding and the stand by crew help out with this task it should not take long at all. When re-racking the handlines, re-rack it as if you are going to be the next one to pull it. It any member thinks a line is racked wrong and there is personnel on station say something to an officer so we can get the ones rerack properly
   

• Fire Reports: Only the unit officer or the OIC are to be filling out fire reports!
   

2010 Easter Egg Hunt

• Egg hunt is 3 April 3rd , 2pm at the Shippensburg Township Park on Britton Road.. We would like the fire police and the Engine Crew there between 12-12:30.

• We will need help getting everything set up.

• The Stuffing of the Eggs is Thursday night March 25, 2010 at the SFAC.
